ON GOOD FORM

Users that add and edit content are the ones that usually spend the most time interacting with a site, and yet most Drupal site builds tend to focus on features, archtecture, and presentation - while the forms used to enter content are given little consideration.

The London Drupal Community in association with Capgemini and Microsoft, welcomes you to an evening of presentations and discussion on how Drupal content entry forms can be made more user friendly.

If all tickets are taken please add yourself to the waiting list, which will also enable us to notify you of future drupal events.

Presentations

Presentations will start at 6:15 p.m.

Introduction To Drupal And Forms

A general introduction to Drupal, an overview of the form system, and a few tips and recommendations to make your forms more user friendly.

Robert Castelo, Code Positive

Improving Drupal Forms with jQuery UI

Darren will demonstrate his Active Tags module, as an example of how a usability problem can be solved using jQuery to improve a widget on a Drupal form. We can go even further in Drupal 7 with the additional jQuery UI libraries that are now included in Drupal core. Along the way we will see new ways to theme Drupal forms and use jQuery UI widgets to improve Drupal forms.

Darren Mothersele, Drupal Freelancer

Workbench The Building Block Of Content Moderation

Easier content management for content administrators.

Chris Maiden, Capgemini

Form Builder And Survey Builder

A demonstration of how the Form Builder module can be used to quickly set up a form, and an introduction to the new Survey Builder module that's been built on top of Form Builder.

John Griffin and Rob Hardwick, Atchai Digital

...5, 6, 7... A Journey Through Drupal Multi-Step Forms

Multi-step forms are a common design pattern. They make forms easier to handle by users but can be problematic for developers. This presentation will get you through a few options to handle them.

What Is Drupal?

Out of the box Drupal provides a rich toolset for quickly setting up and maintaining a website, including content management and advanced community building features.

Drupal is also framework for rapid development, so new features such as eCommerce can be quickly added by installing a plug in from a library of existing modules, over 6,000 currently available - or you can develop your own modules and plug them in.

Who's Using Drupal?

The White House, New York Observer, MTV UK, The Economist....and many more. You've probably been to many Drupal sites without realising it!
